Joe Laronga, founder of CDFX, is a Hofstra University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in television/film production and a minor in photography. After a life-changing event in 1996, Joe picked up a 35mm film camera as a form of therapy, and has been shooting ever since.
He started CDFX Studios Inc. in 2010 to take his passion for photography to the professional level.
Our namesake is our motto at CDFX, and we never produce anything less than perfection for our clients.
Creatively Driven, Flawlessly Executed
From conception to production, Joe and the CDFX team exceed the standards—both personal and professional—that clients have come to expect. No matter how big or small the project, each client is equally unique and important to us.
Joe and his team are super-skilled photography wizards, working their behind-the-scenes magic to guarantee that all clients receive exactly what they envision.
Joe is an expert at developing models' portfolios or comp cards, and actors' headshots. For magazines, Joe can take your Art Director's vision and make it a reality. For companies, Joe can define your brand via photo and video content, including corporate headshots, beautiful photos of your office space, and footage that highlights your unique office culture.
Joe and the CDFX team offer full video services: pre-production, production, and post-production.
Want to get hands on? Curious about the art of photography? Joe offers comprehensive, state-of-the-art workshops covering all areas of photography, from shooting to advanced lighting techniques.
Joe has shot for such companies as Karen Sabag Couture & Bridal, Love Grace Foods, Plomo Shoes, and Breese Menswear among others. He has served as Art Director to conceptualize shoots, and worked with his clients to create the look they imagined, through both creative and technical photography.
Creative is Joe's middle name. Well, it should be! He has worked with dancers from the TV's “So You Think You Can Dance," and the highly-acclaimed “Burn the Floor" dance company, which tours internationally. He works with dancers closely to show off strong lines, using light, angles, and move repetition. He has worked with many musicians to create album covers and website content that captures the essence of each artist's personal and musical style. Joe prides himself on his work with designers and beauty companies. Through collaborating, Joe helps to create a story that enhances the clothing and products and puts ordinary people in extraordinary situations. Take a look!
Joe has worked with several construction companies to help them build their portfolio. Construction or general contracting companies can grow their clientele through photos that capture the action of projects in progress and stunning finished results. Joe has walked ankle-deep mud, worn a hardhat, and hung off a 40-story building to get the perfect shot for his clients.
From lookbooks, to catalogs, to editorial magazine shoots, Joe has shot a wide range of fashion. Whether its an athletic look for Breese Menswear, or couture wedding gowns for Karen Sabag, Joe merges his creative and technical skillset and his passion for photography to create and capture the look the designer envisions for their line.

You don't have to be an actor to need a headshot. With current social media outlets and company websites, we all should have a professional headshot to represent ourselves. Joe helps the non–actor feel comfortable in front of the camera. He'll coach you through every aspect of the shoot, from picking out the best clothing and best poses, to helping you choose the best photos. After your shoot, Joe skillfully retouches your images and sends them your way in easily labeled files for your convenience. CDFX offers corporate packages and will shoot in your office, outdoors, or you can visit our studio in the Meatpacking District.

Joe has shot many different locations, including restaurants, bars and nightclubs, gyms, yoga studios and spin studios, and even the high-end Canali's flagship store on Madison Avenue. Each location has one task: to use beautiful photography to transport viewers to the location without ever stepping foot inside. If you own a space where your business depends on people coming to your location, Joe can help capture your space and show it to the world on your website and social media pages.

Shooting jewelry is like no other type of photography. Capturing the perfect lighting for jewelry is a unique puzzle to solve, involving the finding of the beauty in each fine detail. Joe loves a good puzzle, and has brilliantly shot sapphires for Milan Jewels of NY and the Timeless Designs Diamond Collection. When every jewel has to sparkle, Joe shines.
Product photography is Joe's favorite style. From luxury Harry Winston crystal, to Givenchy's high-end makeup line, to Don Julio's premiere tequilas, and the raw organic cold-pressed juices from Love Grace Foods, Joe's product shoots leave clients elated with the final results. Whatever your product is, Joe can truly make it pop.
Having worked with some of the best television production crews in NYC, Joe can light, shoot, and expertly edit video. Storytelling is one of Joe's passions, allowing him to shoot your story and guide you through the process so that the final video content is clear and promotes your product or brand successfully. Joe has worked with Honda, Nissan, Acura, Toyota, and other car dealerships to create videos about their service departments, and develop training videos for their clients to help them learn all about their newly purchased vehicle. Joe has also worked with blog sites to create video content for their pages, such as the Pressed Organic Juice Directory. If you have a website, social media page, and business, then video content can truly elevate your brand. There is no better way to show off your business to the world than through the moving image.
